Aksana Kavaliova-Moussi, MTA
Music Therapist

Certified music therapist (MTA), currently resides in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where she works with individuals with special needs

Aksana worked in a variety of settings: hospice and palliative care, nursing homes, special needs schools and centers, hospitals (pediatrics and oncology units). She was the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Liaison for the World Federation of Music Therapy (WFMT) in 2011-2017 and is a member of the Education and Training Commission since 2017. Aksana is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Music Therapists (CAMT), American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), and Music Therapy Association of Ontario. She holds the MTA (Music Therapist Accredited) certification, is a Neurologic Music Therapist-Fellow, and a Certified Trauma Integration Clinician (CTIC). Aksana has a Master in Music Therapy degree from the Colorado State University, Bachelor of Music Therapy from the University of Windsor (ON, Canada), Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University (NB, Canada) and previously completed Bachelors of Arts and Music Education in Belarus. Aksana is a board member and a Co-Chair of the Online Conference for Music Therapy, Vice-president of the Music Therapy Association of Ontario, editorial board member of the “Music & Medicine” journal.
